The AIM was founded by four young musicians in Copenhagen in 2004. The classical combination of bas, drums, guitar and vocals enhanced The AIM’s inspiration of 60’s beat music. Using this background as a base, they built on this with their own sound, female vocals and their special edgy type of riffs. This unique sound of old and new, mixed with good songs, and supported by a proper kick-ass live-performance, is what makes The AIM stand out from the rest. Since their first stage appearance, The AIM has given numerous concerts all over Denmark, reaping positive acclaim from a broad audience and critics. These four original musicians have also made their mark on places like Bilbao and the German POPKOMM festival. As a result of an increasing interest for the band abroad, The AIM decided to move to and live in the German capital of Berlin in late 2006. The AIM sent out an EP under the name “AIMology” in 2005, and is now giving the final touches to their debut album, which will be released in the coming year. The AIM is at present in the process of negotiations and therefore it is not as yet known which recording company will release their album. The Danish music magazine Gaffa wrote about the live concert from POPKOMM: “There is power, distortion, and movement. Once again the band crosses the boundaries between the universes of the innocent 60´s and the depraved 70’s. It’s difficult to imagine, that these 4 young people can possibly produce more music and sound.” After the concert, the band received many extremely positive reactions from the German, English, and Canadian music industry – majors as well as indies. ”There dwells a sweet 60’s smell around The AIM’s edgy rock, which sends loving thoughts to the early “Who” and the Mod movement. But it is not only the band’s sense of style and appearance that tickles you – but also the interesting catchy songs and the sexy vocals of Veronica D’Souza which add up to the category of “very promising”.
