There are 2 bands using the name The Collision operating on either side of the pond. 1. The Collision - a 5 piece rock combo based in Warrington, Cheshire, UK 2. The Collision - a 4 piece Experimental Rock group from Wooster, Ohio, US THE COLLISION started unconsciously back in the early 2000's when all there was was a dream of two 1st or 2nd graders with no talent. The two grew together and to this day are best friends. It was their 5th grade year that they put out their first album under the band name "Dreams Aren't Reality", sort of a grungy, metal and mostly instrumental album. Nate Head played guitar, bass and sang on the album and Ben Benekos played drums and laid down the keyboard tracks. It wasn't until their 6th grade year that they realized that to play live it would be necessary to have a bass player and possibly another guitar player. Soon after, Brian Buehler (bass) and Matt Kaufman (guitar) were brought into the band. They had their very first practice on new years eve of 2005. Not too long after, the exchange of Matt Kaufman for Nathan Harley was made and since then, THE COLLISION has been very much a learning process for each individual and for the band as a whole and there has been much progress and growth on many levels. The band grew together, each other being the others' best friends and learned musically together through also playing in the WCS chapel band from 6th-8th grade led by Mr. Claes, their middle school music teacher who actually came to be one of the band's closest friends! In July of 2008, Brian Buehler left the band in preparation to go off to boarding school for his Freshman year. Since then, THE COLLISION has been without a bass player and is still searching for that special someone. ;] haha! In this long time frame, they have not played one show without a bass player because of the following people to who they are VERY grateful: Bailey Alexander, Bryson Gentry, Matt Troyer, Nate Ward, Nathan Amstutz, and Trenton Troyer. The group is powered solely by Freshmen in high school on fire for God and that have a great message! Since their first show in September of 2007, THE COLLISION has played somewhere around 40 shows. Their goal for summer of 2009 is to match that! So hopefully you will make it out to a show soon!!!
