The Dirty Chimes are one of the most popular up and coming Indie-Electro bands in the London Area. They have already enjoyed many successes; particularly so on the Camden circuit, and in a series of competitions across the country. They recently played the London showcase of the BritBus tour at the 02 Academy in Islington; of which 3,500 bands applied for and only 72 had the chance to perform in some of the UK’s best venues, and for a further chance to go on tour. The Band have also played such venues as The Fly, Rhythm Factory, The Half Moon Putney, Bull and Gate, The Ginglik and Bullet Bar, all in their first year as a band. Jonty the Lead Singer and Guitarist is a soulful musician compared to the likes of Jimmy Hendrix, Jeff Buckley and Mick Jagger in Vocal and guitar playing technique; and of course adding his own unique style. His look is most often compared to that of Russell brand, Noel Fielding and Keith Richards - his expressive dress sense has earned him something of a reputation and adds to the overall presence of the band. Will plays a key part in a creating the unique sound of The Dirty Chimes; taking ideas put forward by the indie-electro boom and putting his own brand of exciting synth work, paired with an unparalleled imagination for creating music. Finally, the drummer Alex plays the vital role of giving The Dirty Chimes the all important groove that their music relies on and helping to maintain the excitement that they feel a great live band should deliver. He has many years of experience, sporting a grade eight in drumming, and has played in many bands, often in fact outshining the other members as something special - this is born of his expressive, yet thrilling playing style - often compared to the greats: Keith Moon and John Bonham.
