The Floodgates are a three piece alternative band from Tunbridge Wells, combining their folk roots with modern instruments and lyrics beyond their years. Founded by 18 year old singer songwriter Martin Stenning and lead guitarist Tim Fullbrook, they are joined by Alex Wane on percussion. ‘Broken Kite’ is the follow up single to their previous single releases ‘God Knows’ and ‘You’. ‘Broken Kite’ tells the story of an attention addicted girl, with a departure from The Floodgates’ previously folk sound, bringing in vast harmonies and adrenaline-fueled electric guitar. ‘Broken Kite’ is out July 6, with a single launch party at The Forum, Tunbridge Wells on July 8.
