The Launderettes are an all-female group from Norway who play what they describe as "raw 60's garage punk". The group is led by the self-proclaimed "scream queen" Ingvild Nordang, alongside Linda Kastbakken (Guitar & Backing Vocals), Siri Eriksen (Bass & Backing Vocals), Ragna Nordenborg (Keyboards & Backing Vocals), and Cecile Asker (Drums & Percussions). They released their first two singles back in 2000 - Rebel Love was released on the Norweigan Label Sneakers Records, and I Wanna Jump Your Bones on German Label Thunderbaby Records. Both singles are now completely sold out and hard to find. They are considered collectors items by many. During this period, the band also appeared on several compilations including "Riot On The Rocks", "Stiff Nipples" and "A Fist Full of Rock N Roll". During their tour of Belgium also in 2000, the girls also released a live recording entitled Live At Tiki's and released this on their own label, Launderama Records. During their extensive touring throughout Europe, they have supported the likes of Finland's Thee Ultra Bimboos and Branded Women, as well as the Voladoras - resulting in a split EP with these artists released on Low Impact. Their first album Shaken and Disturbed was released on Big Dipper in May 2002, but was sold out within 2 months resulting in a second print of the recording. Their second album Every Heart Is A Timebomb was released on Big Dipper in early 2005 to critical acclaim. In 2007, the group switched to Wicked Cool Records and released Fluff 'n' Fold - The Best of The Launderettes. A new album is also expected soon.
