"The Narrows" refers to three bands: an electro rock band from Manchester, UK (2010 - present), one from Bellingham, Washington (active from 1999-present) and another from Hillsdale, Michigan (active from 2004-08) The Narrows from Manchester, UK make dark electro guilt pop. They have recently played at T in The Park and released a single available for free at http://www.thenarrows.bandcamp.com They sing about paranoia, guilt and conspiracy theories. They have been played on BBC6 Music and have been described recently as "...utterly, consistently brilliant... they have precisely no contemporaries... we could have the makings of another Manchester legend." Bellingham, Washington is a mossy, dark place. The Narrows’ music is the perfect compliment to their home, Bellingham. And like the moraines scattered around Whatcom county, this is glacial rock. It leaves humongous hanging valleys and piles of till everyplace it goes. The music is as similar to Low as it is to Nirvana, around when they recorded Bleach. It's got the Northwest's patented guts and rawness, powerful band dynamics at work and a thematic base stemming from an automobile accident in which guitarist/singer Justin McIntyre's lost one of his legs. This collects their first two records, Days are Numbered and Six-Ten (they've released four, total) and the CD is remastered. Seattle silkscreen artist Tom Dewar made the covers. The LPs are incredibly limited (140 total made).
