Described as a cross between At The Drive In and Ben Folds Five, The Patrick James Pearson Band’s first EP – The American Lover EP pricked up many ears. It was so attention-catching that the shady panel who choose bands for the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury picked them out to perform on the Friday at the festival. Many, including, Tom Robinson raved about it thus rendering them the number 1 “Most Shared” band at Glastonbury for a good 24 hours on the BBC Glastonbury website home page. The song “Reasons To Move On” was also picked out by the BBC at Glastonbury to be aired on the Lauren Laverne show on 6 Music and on Friday’s BBC3 TV’s round up of the best of the festival. 3 videos of the Glastonbury performance can be seen at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/festivals/glastonbury/2011/artists/patrickjamespearsonband/ A second EP (featuring 5 whole tracks – a veritable aural feast and bargain to boot) – the aforementioned “Reasons To Move On” EP was released on October 10th on the band’s own OUF Recordings label. Very much into the DIY ethic, TPJPB do everything themselves, helped with a bit of cash earned by singer Patricks other job teaching music in primary schools. These tracks really were recorded in their bedrooms, drums and all, the long suffering residents of Plymouth look forward to the band going into a real studio soon! Sleeves, videos, web sites and tours all eminate from a bedroom somewhere in Plymouth, Patrick also runs popular local Plymouth club night - Ouf – though not from his bedroom! Late 2011 saw the keyboard driven three piece supporting Hard Fi on their national tour. 2012 has seen the band's first foray with an actual real live producer; Pete Miles, known for his work with King Blues and Crazy Arm to name but a few. A 5 track EP entitled "Discipline" is due for release in the early summer.
