There are at least four bands using this name. 1. The Players, a Norwegian boyband consisting of the five footballers Kristoffer Hæstad, Raymond Kvisvik, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Øyvind Svenning and Freddy dos Santos. They released their single, "This Is For Real" on July 3rd, 2006, performed in Oslo, Norway. 3. An alias for Baltimore, MD based ska group, The Players Band. 2. A supergroup of Nashville studio musicians who assembled to record ten of their own compositions: Dann Huff, Tommy Sims, Tom Hemby, Chris Rodriguez, Eric Darken, Shane Keister, Terry McMillan, Mark Dought, and Michael Omartian. The one-off project, also titled "The Players" was released in 1996 by Warner Alliance. 4. The Players -- Tony Lee Johnson, Herbert Butler, and Otha Lee Givens (1960s-70s) 5. The Players was a slovak bigbit band established by Jozef Barina. They played instrumental rock as The Shadows and own songs. Members of The Players later founded band Meditating Four. 6. The Players - A British Supergroup featuring Damon Minchella formally of Ocean Colour Scene, Mick Talbot of The Merton Parkas and The Style Council, Steve White from The Style Council / Paul Weller and Aziz Ibrahim of Stone Roses.
