The Poet Junkies – a four-piece rock band based in Plymouth, England burst into the scene in 2013 with the release of their debut EP Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained, also playing main stage volksfest and The Vaccines after party. The response from fans & critics alike came back in a storm of support; the intense amount of love and dedication The Poet Junkies have put into their own brand of hard-hitting rock music was instantly reciprocated by thousands of hungry rock-fans. The four highly-skilled creators behind the electric-rock that is now known as The Poet Junkies includes: Brendan O’Neill (Vocals/Guitar), Thomas Archer (Guitar), Matt Xhapman (Bass) and Jon Blanchard (Drums). With a successful debut release in their catalogue, the buzz around The Poet Junkies enveloped the UK as their music took hold of the scene, including having their extraordinary-rock featured on well-known programs like BBC Introducing, Getting BBC introducings Upload of the week. 2014 has become the busiest and most exciting year in the career of The Poet Junkies. The writing, recording, jamming and creativity continued to flow expanding and building on the sounds they began with the last EP…only BIGGER and better than before. In a true return to the stage after time spent away writing the new EP, The Poet Junkies played the main stage of the Plymouth Pavillions in a headlining show, testing out the new material live to hundreds upon hundreds of enthusiastic responses.
With every reason to be confident and believe in their new material based on the increasing amount of love and support for their music, The Poet Junkies finalized the recording of their energetic new EP, One Of Those Days, currently released through all big online stores including itunes.
To end the year with a bang the band got into the studio one last time to record the single E.Q.uilibrium which was also released with a studio video. The video has had a amazing response on youtube gaining over 6000 views and 150 likes in the first month, only going on to gain the band further recognition including another BBC introducing track of the week!
2015 has been another sucessful year for the band, They got in the studio to record the new single "sex and the crazy parade" released with their first official video. The band has also branched out of there local city and played a sell out show in london only pushing them further on with there success. With many more gigs and alot more videos lined up, 2015 proves to be another big year for the band!
