Taking their name literally, The Retrospective Soundtrack Players perform entire sets of songs based on their favourite films, books and other media. Their big break came when they won a competition to feature as an unsigned artist on Frank Turner's Try This At Home 7” and digital single and were subsequently signed by Xtra Mile in 2010. Working on songs written about frontman Kyle's favourite film Cool Hand Luke - in a single week as a challenge - their first album was released in 2011. In 2012, they released The Catcher In The Rye; then played the main stage of 2000trees festival in 2013. 2014 saw the release of their latest effort, a Christmas album.
