The Seagulls are an acoustic rock duo from Monterey, California. The group comprises Iapetus "Larson" Galt and Matthew "Buchholtz" Buchholtz. The two met at a secret government facility in Monterey and became friends after each discovered the others interest in The Moldy Peaches and Tom Waits. Almost two years later, the two moved to the Sandwich Islands and began playing what they call "revolution music," singing songs about Jesus Christ and the government into discount recording equipment from Radio Shack. Their newest album - described by the band as "a melodious, lyrically caustic assault on faith and tyranny" - is slated for release in February.
