The Simon Pollard Band are a 4 piece Country/Pop/Rock band from Leeds. The New EP form The Simon Pollard Band "The Dark Before Dawn" was released at our EP Launch Party on the 16th of March at Empire in our Hometown of Leeds. The Band recently made their way to Reading and Leeds Festivals after winning a slot through the Futuresound competition, a fierce competition between over 300 bands battling for only six spots and performed on The BBC Introducing Stage. Since playing at Reading and Leeds with have had some fantastic support slots in Leeds Including our Co-Headline gig with The 1930's at Milo's and our Support slot with Sydney Indie band The Jezabels at The Wardrobe, Australian Singer/Songwriter Dan Parsons and one of HMV's 'Next Big Thing' artists for 2012 Jake Morley and have also been featured on Alan Raww's BBC Radio Leeds Show where we played an exclusive live session and also had our tracks played on many occasions. The band draw on diverse influences such as Ryan Adams, Counting Crows, Kings of Leon, Simon&Garfunkel, Steely Dan and The Who to produce an Alternate Country Rock infused numbers... The Band has run through many line up changes over the past 2-3 years with two constant musicians remaining throughout - Simon Pollard (Vocals, Guitar) and David Robinson (Bass, Seamstress). Matt Lee (lead guitar) and Liam Warner (Drums) joined the band in late 2010 to complete the current line-up - which is also been known to be flexible enough to accommodate a Trumpet or a fiddle or two!
