Since forming in early 2009 The Uppercuts from North London have set about creating their own sound, this unique sound and writing style is made up of a mix of Punk, Ska, Oi and Indie. For the last year they have been working on writing songs for an album due to be recorded at the end of 2010. Currently playing shows around the UK the Uppercuts have played alongside bands such as The Exposed (Warped Tour 2010), Glastonbury Veterans La Rebla Fam and punk legends King Kurt. In this short period of time The Uppercuts have drummed up a lot of interest on the punk scene. The Uppercuts are in the process of writing their debut album, which will include the 2 songs “Never a Care” and “Bring on the Weekend” The Uppercuts were formed in March 2009 when Jamie and Mark (previously of Layabout) decided to work on some material on their own. After drafting in Wes on lead guitar and Steve on Bass (formerly of Allies) the line up was complete. After writing material and some early recordings The Uppercuts had their debut show supporting The Exposed at the Worlds End in Finsbury Park. With very positive feedback from this show the Uppercuts are going from strength to strength putting on energetic performances with catchy melodic vocals and powerful instrumentals. “An awesome night had by all! Thanks to THE UPPERCUTS for their awesome set!!!" - Forgo Formalities, Forgo Formalities “ With more material on the way and an album in the pipeline The Uppercuts are continuing to play to a growing fan base within the UK and overseas.
