Tiffany Page is an English rock musician and songwriter. Page was born in London, but when she was only a year old her mother took her to live in Zimbabwe for five years. She was given her first guitar for her fourteenth birthday, by which time she had discovered American alternative rock; as soon as she had learnt how to play three chords she began writing songs. She left school at sixteen, supporting herself by waitressing jobs and a short stint in a fish and chip shop, all the time writing songs. Her first booking was at café bar she worked in, playing a couple of hours of covers once a month for £70 a time. She could manage four chords by then. "I'd do the easiest things I could think of... A little bit of Oasis, some Dido." Her friend Joe Sumner first encouraged her to start playing her own songs at open-mike nights in a local North London club. After nearly three years of performing her songs acoustically, slowly building a following, she posted a MySpace video of herself playing her song "Old Friend", and subsequently achieved a management deal, and signed with Mercury Records in 2009. According to Walk Away Songfacts, Page spent the remaining part of the year in LA and London writing and recording her debut album, Walk Away Slow. The title track was released as her debut single on March 15, 2010.
