Trev Gibb has been playing solo on the Newcastle scene since 2005.. A solo gig in support of ‘Les Cox Sportifs’ at the historic Morden Tower in Newcastle in June of 2008, attended by members of Field Music, Maximo Park and the Futureheads resulted in some recording work with David Brewis of Field Music. Over the ensuing year and a half an album worth of material was recorded, with songs Corrina’s Nylon Strings and Say You Will featured on Tom Robinson’s BBC introducing show. The band Deerhart were formed in the late summer of 2010 out of a necessity to bring the material Trev Gibb recorded with David Brewis to a live audience. Deerhart consist of Trev Gibb (vocals, keys, guitar) Kev Irving (bass), Nick Sheffield (guitar), Anth Steel (guitar) and Alex Hall (drums). Deerhart are due to support Field Music’s ‘Plumb’ album launch on Feb 10th at Newcastles Cluny. An EP of the band material is due in the summer of 2012, and small release 7’’ of the highlights of the recorded material done under Field Music’s production. “His voice is filled with heartache and emotion” Just Gimme Indie Rock “Bloody fantastic - Trev Gibb is sure to appeal to both the loved up and the loved out” Narc Magazine see: http://www.myspace.com/trevgibb http://trevgibb.bandcamp.com/ http://trevgibbdebutalbum.bandcamp.com/album/trev-gibb
