Turtle Lamone

Turtle Lamone is a DIY indie, pop and punk project led by Raphael Lehmann. The music is built around piano and draws on influences including The Hold Steady, World/Inferno Friendship Society, The Replacements, Dresden Dolls and Hot Water Music. The writing addresses capitalism, the gender binary, hitchhiking and growing up.

Background

Lehmann is from Scotland and has also been based in Cambridge and Edinburgh. He starts his first band at the age of 15 in Cambridge, then moves to Edinburgh later on. Turtle Lamone begins in 2012 after the split of the earlier band The Stay Gones.
