Vince Lee And The Big Combo

Vince Lee is a blues guitarist and lead vocalist from Ferriday, United States, born in 1935 and died in 2022. He is also a rock and roll pianist nicknamed “The Killer”, and is associated with blues, country, country gospel, honky tonk, rock and rock and roll.

He has performed live since 1987. His guitar style and vocal delivery draw on blues and roots music from several generations, and his work is described as combining technical fluency with a strong blues feel.

With Al Wallis on bass guitar and Keith Russell on drums, The Big Combo perform swinging West Coast rhythm and blues and roots music. The trio has played venues and festivals since 1996. They also record as Vince Lee & The Big Combo.

The group releases its debut album Call it What Ya Wanna! in 2003, recorded at P.M.C Studios in Plymouth. Vince Lee also records two sessions for the Paul Jones Blues Show on BBC Radio 2 and appears on albums by The Hot Rats, Slinky Boy Wonder, Christian Sleep, Head of Programmes, Becky Brine and Thomas Ford.

Lee and Wallis also play in the four-piece blues, swing and rock and roll group The Wildcards. He is also a member of The Little Green Men and Class Of '55.
