There are at least 5 bands named "Waste".
The First is black metal band from Sweden formed in 2003 by drummer P.J and singer/guitarplayer A.k.A. Soon, D.R joined the band on bass. Two demos were released with this lineup, "Waste" (2003) and "Banish Life Forever" (2004). In the winter of 2004 Patrik joined in bass, D.R moved on to playing guitar and A.k.A concentrated on vocals. But soon, D.R dropped out and A.k.A picked up the guitar again. A demo was released in the spring of 2005 called "No Room For Happiness Here", but since then not much have been heard from them. There was supposed to be another demo coming out in early 2007, but the info on it has been inconsistant.
The second is a very young German punk band having this very clever name. Founded in summer 2004 they have recorded an EP (Niggle EP), featuring "Welcome to Happyland", "At the Swimmingpool", "Without Chocolate", "Fly-Flap" and "Liars are Stupid". In late 2006 they released their 10-track debut "That's Fact", featuring 2 of their already released songs and 8 new ones. While their latest release was still most influenced by contemporary punkbands, their style remains in transit and appears to evolve into more mature and heavy sound. Their next effort is planned to be released later in 2007. Current line-up:
The third is the anti-folk artist from Michigan. She distributes her music for free from her website.
Most Excellent Records will release a CD of whiskey-related songs by Waste sometime in 2007.
The fourth "Waste" were a Dutch punkband in the early eighties. They released one selftitled 7" that is sometimes called "Blue Lights" and then faded away. They sounded pretty similiar to the melodic UK punk of those days.
The fifth "WASTE" is a german Alternative/Post Hardcore Band from Hamburg, Germany. WASTE is an acronym for : "With all sudden tender emotions." They act since 2008, and played few concerts already. 3 Songs are already recorded.
And there is another one who is a cover band playing in the south of France under this name and who plays originals under the name of "Komä".
Another Waste, a thrash metal outfit from Sisak, Croatia, existed in the period from 2004 -2007, durig that time they did numerous demo recordings of their songs, of wich some ended up on their Demo I, they also have a recoded performance on MUF (mali urbani festival) in Sisak, a few months after they broke up due to some disputes over their future.
The line-up was: Jurica - Guitars and Vocals, Dino V - Guitars , Marko Š- Bass, Gogo - Drums
Today Marko is a sound tehnician working in the local club SKWHAT and also records bands, while Jurica and Gogo play in Kvltivator
