Riff Rock with heavy grooves, soul filled sounds, timeless tones and original tunes. Welcome the Howling Tones are a Farnborough based band right on the Surrey/Hampshire border. After years of silence and with little more than a simple thirst to play blues on a beat up telecaster, rhythm guitarist Paul Waters set out to find a band to sate his hunger and rattle his musical bones once again. Paul and his mate, animalistic drummer Lawrence Arnold, were meeting to jam regularly with a number of musicians covering a wide spectrum of sound and style. After many tasty jams with the indomitable Chris Gilday on bass, Chris suddenly picked up a nearby guitar and started playing perfect Howling Blues lead with classic metal undertones. He was quickly begged to take on the role permanently and so the search for a replacement bassist began. Welcome the Howling Tones hit the perfect vibe when bassist/vocals man Iain "Cat Scratch" Turner brought the final ingredient to the mix. His contributions came thick and fast, adding an upbeat funky edge to the already rhythmically pounding sound and style. The now complete line up draws influence from Blues, Rock, Metal, Funk and pretty much anything else out there. The combination has turned into heavy grooves and catchy riffs with a firm grip on the tone knob that seems ever forgotten in modern times. Heading out on tour with the mighty GODSIZED in April 2013 catch Welcome The Howling Tones live, airing fresh material you will not want to miss!
