There are two bands and a dance music artist named Westworld: The current version is an american band formed in 1998 by vocalist Tony Harnell and guitarist Mark Reale. Soon, bassist Bruno Ravel and drummer joined John O'Reilly and they released their first album in 1999. Harnell was the lead vocalist for TNT. The original Westworld were a British three-piece rock band active in the late 1980s. Named after the sci-fi film Westworld they were formed in 1986 by former Generation X (band) guitarist Bob "Derwood" Andrews and American vocalist Elizabeth Westwood. The line up was completed by drummer Nick Burton. Visually the band were styled in a way reminiscent of comic book art and musically they were a blend of classic 1950s rock and roll, glam and punk updated with beatboxes and sequencer. They became an instant success with their debut single Sonic Boom Boy reaching number 11 in the UK charts on February 1987; this was accompanied by a memorable comic-book styled video. They had one more top 40 hit Banana Bamboo which reached number 37 on May 1987. They released three albums before moving to the Arizona desert in 1992 to form the band Moondogg.
