Dave Wilson was raised in Sleaford in Lincolnshire. Kip Winter was born in Germany and raised wherever her family happened to live at the time. Winter Wilson sprang into life after the demise of Ragtrade, their first gig was billed as Kip and Dave, but this was too close to Chas and Dave (gercha!!) Playing mainly original songs mixed with a few carefully chosen covers they began to get established on the folk and roots circuit, releasing their debut album "by the skin of our teeth" in '97. As time's moved on three more albums have followed ("matter of time", "I hear voices sing" and "These are the things") all made up of original material which has helped them win a few more fans. Dave's songs are now being covered up by many singers on the folk scene.
