Boundless and Neil O’Brien Entertainment are proud to announce details of their inaugural summer festival, A Boundless Summer, which will take place in the grounds of Bowood House, Wiltshire on 21st and 22nd July 2018.
Set to become a highlight of the UK festival calendar, with tickets starting at £30 (booking fees apply), this year’s headline acts are Jools Holland & his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra featuring Gilson Lavis, with special guest Chris Difford and guest vocalists Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall & Rosie Mae, who will be performing at Bowood House on Saturday 21st July, and on Sunday 22nd July, guests will be treated to Boundless Summer Proms with Katherine Jenkins with The National Symphony Orchestra and special guest John Owen-Jones and conductor Anthony Inglis.
Bringing world-class acts to spectacular historical settings, A Boundless Summer is sure to give attendees a memorable and unique experience. Bowood House and Gardens are set in 2,000 acres of Capability Brown, Grade I listed parkland. Home to the Lansdowne family since 1754, over half the house is open to the public as well as over 100 acres of Pleasure Grounds - which provide the perfect setting for outdoor concerts and other large scale events.
Guests are allowed to bring their own picnics and alcohol to the concerts, and there will also be a good quality range of catering and refreshments available to purchase on-site, including pre-orderable picnic hampers for collection on the evening of the show, to enjoy in the grounds. Attendees will also be able to bring in small camping chairs and picnic blankets from which to enjoy the concerts.
Boundless is a club dedicated to civil-service and public-sector workers - active and retired - looking to get more out of life for less. Members pay a small fee per year, and are given access to exclusive days out, holidays, ideas and offers. A Boundless Summer, the company’s inaugural festival, is being opened up to the general public, who, for the first time, also have the option to join Boundless upon buying tickets, giving them access to the exclusive deals on offer year-round.
Opening proceedings at Bowood House on Saturday 21st July will be festival favourite, ‘Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra’ featuring Gilson Lavis. Jools will appear with special guest, Chris Difford, and guest vocalists Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall & Rosie Mae. Awarded an OBE in 2003 for his services to the British music industry, Jools has sold millions of albums worldwide, as well as collaborating with prominent artists such as Sting, Chrissie Hynde, George Harrison, Norah Jones, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Bono, Joe Strummer, KT Tunstall, Robert Plant, Smokey Robinson, Sugababes, Ringo Starr, Peter Gabriel, Solomon Burke, and many more. Jools’ career as a television presenter has run parallel to his musical career, most notably Later…with Jools Holland which recently celebrated 25 years of broadcast.
Closing festivities on Sunday 22nd July at Bowood House will be Boundless Summer Proms with Katherine Jenkins with The National Symphony Orchestra with special guest John Owen-Jones and conductor Andrew Inglis. Last year Welsh superstar mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins officially became the number one classical music artist of the past 25 years in the Ultimate Classic FM Chart. This record breaking achievement came only a year after celebrating 12 number one albums in 12 years since signing to Universal Classics at the tender age of 23. Katherine was awarded an OBE in 2013.
A Boundless Summer will also be hosted at Borde Hill Garden, Haywards Heath, with UB40 (plus support ASWAD) and The Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes & Tonnino Baliardo performing at the venue on Saturday 21st July and Sunday 22nd July respectively.
Carl Fillery, CEO of Boundless said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting our first ever summer festival, A Boundless Summer, at Borde Hill Garden and Bowood House. The range of world-class acts on offer means there really is something for everybody. We’re a club dedicated to helping people get the most from their free time, so we’re delighted to be able to offer members of the public a chance to experience a Boundless event.’
