Beautiful Days has music and entertainment across SIX stages plus a huge children’s area in the centre of the festival, walkabout theatre, amazing site art, comedy, theatre, family camping, food & craft stalls, healing area, play areas and pub-price bars run by Otter Brewery. Beautiful Days is a family-friendly weekend camping festival attended by people of all ages, which won BEST FAMILY FESTIVAL at the 2011 UK Festival Awards.
BY CAR: Escot is just off the A30, between Exeter and Honiton. Exit the A30 at Daisymount (eastbound) and at Iron Bridge (westbound). Please follow AA signs for the Blue Route to get to the festival site. Don’t follow your sat nav – follow the AA signs! Your routing sticker (car routing/parking pass or campervan pass) will help us to guide you on to the site and parked. There is ample parking on site, please try and car share to avoid traffic and congestion. If you are being dropped off please follow signs for the RED ROUTE. If you are planning to travel to the festival in a car or campervan and dont have a vehicle pass then you will be able to buy one on the RED GATE to then re-enter through the Blue Gate with the correct passes to park for the weekend. Please note: we cannot accommodate caravans. Please do not park off the festival site. Vehicles parked illegally will be towed.
PLEASE NOTE: CAR & CAMPERVAN PASSES ALLOW PARKING ON THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. There is no extra charge to enter the site on Thursday (gates open 2pm – 9pm for entry).
PARKING & WRISTBANDS: Cars will be parked in the car parks and then you will walk to one of two Pedestrian Gates (whichever is closer to you, they will be clearly signed) where you will exchange your tickets for wristbands. You will then go through the Pedestrian Gates and into the campsites! If you are in a Campervan then you will exchange your tickets for wristbands as you enter the Campervan fields.
CAR SHARE: Save money, save the planet and meet new people at the same time. We’ve teamed up with LIFT SHARE to make sharing transport to Beautiful Days a lot easier. By car sharing you can save on travelling costs, reduce cO2 emissions and cut congestion.
BY BUS: This is the Stagecoach bus timetable for Beautiful Days 2012. Buses will run to the festival site from Exeter on Thursday and Friday this year and return to Exeter on the Monday morning. No buses will run on Saturday or Sunday. You do not need to book tickets, more buses will run as needed and they will be clearly marked for Beautiful Days. Adult single ticket will be £5 and Child single £3. The times are:
BY TRAIN: Call the 24hr National Rail Enquiries Line on 08457 48 49 50 for rail information and booking. Festival buses will run from Exeter to Escot, see bus information for times and details. The nearest train station to Escot is Feniton. The festival runs a FREE SHUTTLE BUS service from Feniton station on the Thursday (2pm – 8pm) and Friday (9am – 1pm). Please look out for the bus which will be clearly marked to get a lift to the festival site’s red pedestrian gate rather than walking from the station.
BY AIR: Exeter International Airport is situated off the A30, 5 miles from Exeter towards Escot Park. There are no buses from the Airport to the festival but a taxi from the airport will take about 10-15 minutes. You can fly to Exeter Airport from places including Liverpool, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow. For details of flights, go to http://www.flybe.com/
WEEKEND NON-CAMPERS: For those not camping at the festival, we would suggest finding somewhere very near the festival site or booking a B&B, Guest House or Hotel in Exeter. Please contact local tourist information centres for details on accommodation. If you are staying off-site then please be aware of gate opening times for re-entry!
