DumbFest started in 2010 as a fundraising project for the Dumball Rally, a cut-price car rally where teams buy a clapped-out old car, do it up and wear fancy dress while driving for a week around some of the strangest parts of Europe, such as Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia and Lithuania. All of this is done in the name of charity, with the rally raising nearly £200,000 in the last five years. Since 2007, all of the fundraising has been targeted at one charity, Teenage Cancer Trust - a charity devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer.
