28 September - 30 September 2012
Grand Hall, Scarborough Spa Complex, South Bay, Scarborough, North Yorkshire
The tenth Scarborough Jazz Festival returns to the refurbished Grand Hall over the weekend of 28th-30th September.
Regulars will notice a few enticing extras this year. On Friday afternoon, pianist Gareth Williams teams up with bass player Dave Green to pay tribute to Bill Evans and Scott LaFaro. Both wonderful players and it's free to weekend ticket holders. Also, in the bar throughout the weekend the Jim Birkett Trio will be playing between sets and I'm anticipating plenty of celebrated sitters in.
Finally BBC Radio 3's Jazz Line-Up will be recorded at the festival and Scarborough's own pianist Peter James with his trio will be a programme highlight.
There's so much to do in Scarborough and with a wide range of accomodation you can easily make your visit into a long stay.
There is plenty of local accommodation including hotels, bed & breakfast accommodation, caravan and campsites.
