Suddenly upon a lonely castle keep, came a wandering band of nomads and all day they listened to funky minstrels.
No – it’s not a fairy story. It was Clitheroe Castle Pop Festival. For 4 years in the early 1970’s fans enjoyed live music in the magnificent surroundings of Clitheroe Castle. Artists such as Barclay James Harvest, UFO, Roy Harper, Brinsley Schwarz, Kevin Ayers and MC5 performed in the beautiful grounds.
In July 2016 live music will return with “Summer Days Festival” – a 3 day boutique music and food festival set in the fantastic historic grounds of Clitheroe Castle in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.
