To say The Specials were an inspirational band would be putting it lightly. As one of the pioneers in UK ska, they are one of the biggest and most influential bands in British music history. They were due to play at the iconic Piece Hall. You can imagine that from a band who were first formed in 1977, who were one of the forerunners in 2 Tone music, and who had 7 successive hits in the Top 10 from 1979 to 1981, including two number ones in the form of Ghost Town and Too Much Too Young, you know you are going to be in for a treat. The band got back together 1993 and have continued to draw huge crowds and released their first new studio album for 18 years, called Encore, which in turn was the band's first number 1 album.
