Levellers have just released the 3rd single from their critically acclaimed album, Static On The Airwaves, entitled 'We Are All Gunmen'. Release date 25 August.

We Are All Gunmen’ reflects on the fleeting nature of utopian dreams where ‘banker’s pay is justified’, there are ‘no politicians’ and ‘all nations come in peace’. The references in the song to lighting beacons were inspired by where the Levellers live in between a line of hill forts along the South Downs in England. ‘We Are All Gunmen’, which the band describe as a The Kinks meets Dylan meets Subhumans, has been highlighted as one of the stand-out tracks on the album in a number of reviews.

'We are gunmen all, guardians of the watchtowers
Lighting up the beacons, to bring our riders home'

‘We Are All Gunmen’ is the third single to be taken from the Levellers new studio album ‘Static On the Airwaves’ which was released in June. It is the first Levellers album to feature Simon Friend’s powerful vocals on the opening track.

The band are playing at festivals throughout summer 2012 including their own sold out festival, Beautiful Days, in August. An acoustic tour to theatres and cathedrals in September and a full electric tour around the UK in November with special guests Citizen Fish are on sale now.
