The Futuresound Events team is celebrating after winning a national UK Festival Award for Best Metropolitan Festival.

2014 saw the festival grow substantially in stature and beat off competition from Sheffield's Tramlines, Slam Dunk, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape and The Whitby Goth Weekend to take the award.

Following the award win, 2015 will be a huge year for Live at Leeds as it plans on hosting a second Festival in Scotland. Run in partnership with PCL Music Promotions, Live at Glasgow will have a similar format to the Leeds counterpart and run on Sunday 3rd May 2015 in the Sauchiehall Street area of Glasgow.

Speaking about the UK Festival Award win, Colin Oliver, Founder of Live at Leeds (Director of Futuresound Events) says:

“This is a fantastic way to round off 2014. Live at Leeds (LAL) has been a huge challenge for us to put together over past 8 years but it is worth it when you get recognition from the industry like this and when you see bands we have hosted take off internationally.

LAL is one of the most satisfying and rewarding things we do at Futuresound Events. Getting this Award is a credit to the hard work of the team at Live At Leeds and to all the people who have been involved over the years, particularly within the city.”

Steve Jenner (UK Festival Awards Director) comments:

"Another outstanding summer has made this year's voting and judging a hugely exciting but also challenging task. Not that this put off the festival going public, we've seen a 25% rise in the votes with over 720,000 cast this year."
