Dizzee Rascal Announced as support for Red Hot Chili Peppers UK Tour

Dizzee Rascal

Dizzee Rascal, the leading man of the UK urban scene, will make a spectacular return in 2012 supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers at Knebworth Park, Stevenage on Saturday 23rd June.

The US rockers return to the UK following last year's sold out arena tour to perform two massive open air shows - their only UK dates of 2012. As well as Knebworth Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers will be returning to the North-East of England for their first ever major show (their only previous appearance being the 400 capacity Newcastle Riverside gig in 1990) when they appear at Sunderland's Stadium of Light on Sunday 24th June. Tickets are on sale now and available from SeeTickets.

Having taken the world by storm with smash hits such as 'Bonkers', 'Holiday' and 'Dance Wiv Me' featuring UK producer Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal kept a relatively low profile in 2011, holing himself up in a studio in LA to write and record his highly-anticipated fifth studio album.  The phenomenal success of Tongue N' Cheek secured Dizzee's position a the UK's leading grime and urban artists and saw him pave a trail in the US for fellow Brit-rappers to follow.

Dizzee's return to the live arena in 2012 will see him perform alongside one of the most successful rock acts of all time. Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs and won six Grammy Awards, including ‘Best Rock Album’ for Stadium Arcadium, ‘Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group’ for Dani California, ‘Best Rock Song’ for Scar Tissue and ‘Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal’ for Give It Away.
