If you are looking for something original to do with your children over the Summer holidays then a trip to Epsom is the answer...

The Family Racing Festival takes place from Sunday 26th to Tuesday 28th August and kicks off with the Epsom Racehorse Trainers’ Open Day on the Sunday. This is your chance to bring your children to explore behind the scenes of the training yards, meet the trainers and stable staff and watch the horses exercising.

Epsom Downs throws open its gates on Monday 27 August for the hugely popular Bank Holiday Family Fun Day. This is an action packed afternoon of racing and entertainment for the young and old alike.  Attractions are endless and include pony rides, farrier demonstrations, the Shetland Pony Derby, face painting, a traditional carousel, a crocodile encounter and plenty more. Racing continues on Tuesday 28 August with the Epsom Summer Raceday and it is absolutely FREE for all to attend, so bring the whole family and head to the racecourse.

‘The Family Racing Festival is an eagerly awaited few days and we very much look forward to welcoming you all to this bonanza of family fun,’ commented Rupert Trevelyan, Managing Director of the Racecourse.

Tickets for the Epsom Racehorse Trainers’ Open Day on Sunday 26th August cost £5 for adults, £3 for children from 10 – 16 and children 9 and under are free. These tickets can only be purchased on the day and there will be complimentary buses to drive you between racehorse trainers yards.
