In 2012/13 there were 113,260 households in England who approached their local council as homeless, an 11% increase over two years.
Rough sleeping numbers in England have also risen 31 per cent in two years. In London where rough sleeping is at its highest, 6,437 people slept rough last year.
Crisis is the national charity for single homeless people. Our purpose is to end homelessness.
Homelessness is devastating, leaving people vulnerable and isolated. We believe everyone deserves a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilled and active life.
Crisis helps people rebuild their lives through housing, health, education and employment services. We work with thousands of homeless people across the UK and have ambitious plans to work with many more.
Crisis chief executive Leslie Morphy said: “We have some of the best British musical talent lined up for this year’s Crisis Presents and would like to thank all the artists, including our own from Crisis, for making it happen.
“At a time of rising homelessness, events like this are so important, so please support us by buying your tickets today – not only will this be a great evening but you will be helping us end homelessness.”
Artists who have played previous Christmas gigs for Crisis include Paul Weller, Emeli Sandé, Tim Minchin, Miles Kane and Graham Coxon.
Tickets for Crisis Presents are on sale now and can be bought from Eventim, Livenation and Ticketmaster.
Crisis Presents is in association with Coda and Livenation.
