Knife Party, Zane Lowe, Friction, Shy FX, Ms Dynamite, 16 Bit and The Prototypes confirmed for the Supercharged Arena. Very special guest headliner for Supercharged Arena still to be announced.
With the summer festival season almost upon us Shakedown festival has revealed some of the supporting cast for the Supercharged Arena.
Playing in the Supercharged Arena will be the much lauded Knife Party a brand new production and performance experiment by two of the founding members of Pendulum, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. Taking inspiration from a number of different genres, Knife Party are one of the most devastating acts in the game right now and they bring their adrenaline fuelled brand of distorted dance music to the UK’s party capital for what promises to be a very special set.
Shakedown promoter Matt Priest comments "Last year the atmosphere in front of the Supercharged stage was incredible from start to finish, and with a bigger line-up inside a huge arena, 2012 is going to be even better. Knife Party are the act of the moment, and when you see who we've got headlining the Arena you will not be disappointed."
Zane Lowe’s incredible set at last year’s inaugural Shakedown was many people’s highlight of the event so we have invited him back to the south coast for a second year. This truly innovative DJ is the most important tastemaker in the UK and an ambassador of cutting edge music. Shakedown welcomes him back to rock the crowd once more.
Local boy and multi award winning DJ Friction is one of only a select few DJ’s to utilise 3 decks to mash up mixes and is one of the most adept and ferocious names on the drum & bass scene. He has just been signed up as the new face of Radio 1’s flagship drum & bass show, recognising his status as one of the most revered and recognised names in bass music today.
Another key exponent of drum n’ bass is Shy FX who has consistently been a pioneering presence on the movement. His production skills are in high demand and he has recently worked with Yasmin, Dizzee Rascal, Plan B and Kano. Both are certain to keep the crowd on their feet throughout the afternoon.
Also on the bill for the Supercharged Arena are double Brit and three times award winner Ms Dynamite who has made a welcome return to the music scene and 16 Bit whose temperature checking, demented brilliance marks them out as a prominent new name on the dubstep scene.
After an astonishing rise to fame DJ and production duo The Prototypes have rapidly become one of the most recognized names among the 'new breed' in drum & bass.
With a trademark big room sound support for The Prototypes has come from all areas including Andy C, Friction, Sub Focus, Roni Size, Fresh, Pendulum and more. Off to a great start they were recently announced as one of ATM magazine's 2010 'Leaders of the Nu-Skool' and are proud to have hosted a UKF podcast that's reached a phenomenal 250,000 downloads and counting.
After the huge success of last year’s Shakedown Festival, the 2012 show sets out its stall to bring the biggest and best names in contemporary music to Brighton for one last festival outing. With the irrepressible Dizzee Rascal headlining the show with support from the genuine pop superstar that is Professor Green, queen of the underground Katy B, Stooshe’s bolshy urban pop and the much tipped Clement Marfo and the Frontline, the south coast is the only place to be in October.
15 years and still going strong, Supercharged is Brighton's #1 bass driven event brand and an institution for all ravers and party goers. Evolving and moving with the musical trends, Supercharged has been on point and at the forefront of the dance music since day one. With up to two events a week in its hometown Brighton and the power behind Southampton’s best events, it brings eclectic and forward thinking line ups to some of the best venues on the south coast.
