A children’s farm in Bedale, North Yorkshire is getting ready to welcome hundreds of visitors to a blossoming acoustic music festival.
Staff at Big Sheep Little Cow children’s farm are making sure everything is in shape for when the visitors arrive for the music festival – and that includes making sure the animals play their part.
The farm will host the third-ever Bedale Acoustic Music Festival – BAMfest – between Friday May 29 and Sunday May 31. Hundreds of festival-goers, musicians, volunteers and traders will descend on the farm and preparations are well under way to make sure the festival runs smoothly.
And now even some of the animals are also being put through their paces in the build-up to the festival weekend. Pierre the Llama, who has been known to occasionally spit at visitors, has been told to mend his ways and William the Donkey is getting special treatment so he can smile back at visitors when they wave at him.
Carol Clark, who runs Big Sheep Little Cow Farm, explained: “This is the third time we have held BAMfest at the farm. It is a marvellous friendly weekend and we get lots of visitors, who camp in the grounds surrounded by our animals. “We thought it was only right that the animals were told to mind their p’s and q’s – so we’ve had two animal trainers working with William and Pierre.
“Omlette our feisty goose is proving a little harder to manage but rest assured we will make sure all our visitors have a fantastic time.”
