GoldCoast More Acts Announced

A big shout out for Oceanfest Fridays support act, Fuse ODG. Yes the Urban Music Awards Best Afrobeats Artist, Fuse ODG, is in the Bay!

He is from the ‘Off Da Ground’ family hence his surname ODG. Known for his energetic performances and his original and creative conceptual songs, Fuse reached the number one spot in the iTunes World Chart in late 2013, cementing his status as the first Ghanaian musician in history to achieve such a feat. Having since collaborated with Killbeatz, Wyclef Jean, and Sean Paul, Fuse ODG has, to date, cracked the Top 10 on four occasions. Listen out for sound waves.

Strutting their proud English roots into the GoldCoast Saturday mix is indie four-piece band Palma Violets, formed after a chance meeting around a campfire at the Reading festival. It brought together the enigmatic front pairing of Sam Fryar and the spectacularly-named Chilli Jesson. Keyboardist Peter Mayhew and drummer Will Doyle complete the line-up. Before their debut album, 180, they were snapped up by the legendary indie label Rough Trade (The Strokes, The Libertines) whilst also being christened Zane Lowe's Hottest Record along with their single, Best Of Friends, voted NME's track of the year. The release of their second album Danger In The Club was produced by John Leckie (who is the top of the producer pile, think everyone from John Lennon, The Fall, The Stone Roses to The Verve & Muse to name a few) and reverberates a renewed confidence and sense of self-identity. Bring it on down to the coast boys!

Welcome to Havana on our Funday Sunday down at GoldCoast Oceanfest! We have watched them over the years and they are the unstoppable infectious force of nature that is 'The Cuban Brothers’ - their unrivalled funk and soul review blends sexy, soulful music with jaw-dropping b-boy action and riotous comedy. Despite much inappropriate touching, the band’s delirious rhythms, lightning wit, and gentle ribbing of world famous artists has seen them personally chosen to play by Elton John, Robbie Williams and Richard Branson. Off stage, their acclaimed debut album, Yo Bonita!’, which took the skittish dynamics of their live show into the studio, and TV & film appearances, including Ill Manors, Cuban Fury and Sunshine on Leith continue to expose them to new audiences worldwide.
