Josh Kumra is announced for Save The Children’s inaugural Christmas Tree Sessions curated by Lauren Laverne and tickets go on sale.
Chart topping singer songwriter Josh Kumra is announced for Save The Children’s inaugural Christmas Tree Sessions curated by Lauren Laverne. He joins the likes of Fyfe Dangerfield and Kodaline with many more to be announced. Tickets are now on sale.
Save the Children is pleased to announce an evening ofincredible live music in the stunning setting of Islington’s Union Chapel on the evening of Friday 14 December. Curated by Lauren Laverne, who will also be manning the DJ decks throughout the evening, this unique event offers a superb fusion of entertainment – music, comedy, poetry, literary readings – all with a Christmas flavour, plus short films showing Save the Children's work in the UK and overseas.
Lauren Laverne: “I’m absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to present Save the Children’s inaugural Christmas Tree Sessions – Christmas is one of my favourite times of year, so how could I resist?
“We will be delighting you with a whole plethora of eclectic festive treats: great live music guests – Fyfe Dangerfield, Kodaline and some hugely exciting acts still to be announced (shh I’m not allowed to tell you yet!), Christmas stories, DJs, mulled wine and mince pies. And I’m looking forward to dusting off some of my fave Christmas tracks and giving them a spin on the night!
“It’s great to be involved in a global charity that provides such essential work for children both in the UK and overseas, especially when I can help support them through two of my great passions – fashion and music.”
This intimate and inclusive evening will include all the magic of Christmas: the traditional tree, mulled wine, mince pies, audiencesing-a-long, and the chance to customise your own bauble as part of the décor. The wearing of Christmas jumpers will be heartily encouraged and there will be a photo booth on site to record those lovely woollies.
Silvia Montello of Save the Children: "Christmas Tree Sessions supports our No Child Born to Die campaign. Millions of children around theworld are denied the kind of childhood they deserve. Every day, they wake up to a world of hunger, disease and poverty. That’s why we’re giving children the nutritious food they need, helping them fight killer diseases and keeping them safe. This Christmas, let's help more children wake up to a bright future."
A limited number of early bird tickets for Save the Children supporters go on sale 9am on Friday 5 October and tickets go on general sale at 9am from Ticketline on Friday 12 October priced at £40 plus booking fee.
Doors open 6.30pm.
