Greenwich Music Time has confirmed its full line-up for this summer’s event as it prepares to return to the World Heritage-listed site of The Old Royal Naval College from July 5th – 10th.
Having already announced an eclectic mix of artists for the six-day concert series including chart-topping '80s pop duo Roxette, the Grammy-winning pianist and singer Jamie Cullum, international blues sensation Joe Bonamassa and incendiary classical-rock duo 2CELLOS, the organisers have confirmed that soul superstar Seal and one of the biggest bands of the 70s 10cc will complete this year’s line-up.
Since the beginning of his career, London-born multi-platinum singer-songwriter Seal has been focused on a single creative pursuit: expressing the full experience of love through song. An established superstar, with worldwide album sales exceeding 30 million of his eight studio albums, Seal’s inimitable voice was first heard on Adamski’s 1991 club smash ‘Killer’, followed by his Top 10 hit ‘Crazy’. On the heels of his stunning debut album, he went on to win the prestigious BRIT Award for “Best British Male” in 1992, while hits like ‘Kiss From a Rose’, memorably included in the Batman Forever soundtrack, earned him multiple Grammy awards and global esteem. In November, Seal released his ninth album, 7, which reunites him with his longtime collaborator, the producer Trevor Horn. The artist’s focus remains where it’s always been, on the many permutations of love. “I just want people to feel,” he says. No one is better suited to the task.
Seal:
“The Old Royal Naval College looks like such a beautiful location for a concert and I’m really excited to be performing there for this year’s Greenwich Music Time. I’ll be singing songs from my new album ‘7’ alongside music from across my entire back catalogue and I look forward to sharing what I’m sure will be a wonderful experience with my fans.”
70s art-pop giants 10cc have amassed over 30 million album sales worldwide and will be bringing their extensive back catalogue of hits to Greenwich Music Time on Saturday July 9th. The current line-up consists of co-founding member Graham Gouldman (bass, guitars, vocals), Paul Burgess (drums, percussion) Rick Fenn (lead guitar, vocals, bass), Mick Wilson (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Keith Hayman (vocals, keyboards, guitar). Support for 10cc comes from The Feeling.
Greenwich Music Time transforms The Old Royal Naval College’s breathtaking riverside location into the ultimate open-air venue, providing music fans with the opportunity to experience a unique series of concerts set against the stunning backdrop of Greenwich’s magnificent historic landscape.
