Festival Crowd Header

With three months to go until the irrepressible BoomTown Fair returns for four days and nights of mind-blowing festivities and paradoxical parties, there are now less than 20% of tickets left and the festival is looking to sell out faster than ever!

Taking place over 8th – 11th August in Matterly Estate, Winchester, BoomTown Fair presents the very best names in ska, dub, reggae and bass-heavy beats including; Toots and the Maytals, Ozomatli, Arrested Development, Mad Caddies and Parov Stelar Band.  As well as over 300 purveyors of proper party tunes and skank-tastic rhythms, there are also more brand new venues to announce: Chai Wallahs, Boomtique Village, the Boomin’ Styles Banquet and the Tribe of Frog Psy-Trance zone! As well as a multitude of distinct districts celebrating ye olde worlds, other worlds and make-believe worlds, all rolled into the unstoppable beast that is BoomTown Fair!

The popularity of BoomTown Fair keeps on expanding year on year and with sales for the 2013 event up from last year and only 20% of the tickets remaining, this year is looking to be another sell out, smash hit show to obliterate all previous town records! The town planners are taking things to a level  even they didn’t know was possible: With a 15 meter high flaming Aztec temple, five huge fully immersive street sets, the Magic Carpet Ride (Ski-Lift), moving robots, hidden woodland stages, beach parties, ziplines, waterslides, mutated vehicles, over 40 themed venues and the world’s biggest metal spider… the scene is set to blow anything BoomTown has ever done before into a whole new stratosphere and all the Fair needs now is its rambunctious residents to make the streets come to life!

With a multitude of venues previously released, BoomTown have gathered a few more unique venues and areas into the fold…  After 10 years on the festival scene, it is about time to welcome with open arms the critically acclaimed and award winning Chai Wallahs to BoomTown! From humble beginnings as an herbal emporium and tea tent at Big Chill 2004, Chai Wallahs is now the largest independent music venue to tour the UK festival circuit.  Chai Wallahs guarantee top notch music, that perfectly accompanies the hug in a mug they provide in the form of brandy chai or rum hot toddies, expect to hear a diverse musical roster exploring dub, reggae, blues, hip-hop, afrobeat, folk, gypsy and rock. Providing a comfortable environment to relax, rejuvenate and recover Chai Wallahs will be on hand to energise the BoomTown residents with a range of breakfasts, pizzas, brandy chai, rum hot toddies and herbal shots, as well as a hefty prescription of music for the soul!

If Chai Wallahs doesn’t sound quite relaxing or luxurious enough then, fear not, there is also another level of pampering and lavish hospitality to be found within the winding streets of BoomTown in the luxurious Boomtique Village! BoomTown are all about making their citizens as comfortable as possible and this year they have teamed up with Karmic Camping to build the Boomtique Village, a wholesome haven and serene secure suburb of the mad metropolis that is Boomtown Fair!

With an expansive range of luxurious living quarters to enjoy, ranging from a Bell Tents, Tipis, Podpads and Yurts all the way up to the uber opulent Air Stream Caravans and Royal Indian Shakir mega tents, there is something for everyone on a variety of budgets. But it’s not just amazing abodes that BoomTown have poshed up for this year, the Boomtique Village provides a range of facilities for the Boomtique wristband holder to treat themselves to, including; sweet smelling compost toilets, luxury showers, solar powered saunas, a hot tub and a beauty station as well as an a la carte restaurant, a cocktail bar and café, and of course, the all-important phone charging point! And if that isn’t enough there will also be the resident masseur on hand to give those festival beaten bodies a good rejuvenating pummelling!

Another island of refined decadence amongst the madness and mayhem of BoomTown for wild citizens to take a break and recharge their festival fuel cells is the BoominStyles al a carte restaurant: A fine dining experience set in a haven of calm and civility where customers are waited on hand and foot by glamorous serving staff. At a pre-booked table, a glass of bubbly will welcome diners before course after course of delicious, sumptuous food made from the finest, local and seasonal ingredients. Sit back and relax in style whilst being amused and amazed by on-stage light entertainment throughout the evening! All tables must be pre-booked and more details can be found here: http://www.boomtownfair.co.uk/city-guide/booming-banquet

Moving away from the decadence and back to the dancing, BoomTown have got one more final newbie up their sleeves for 2013, the introduction of the one and only Tribe of Frog psytrance open-air stage! Yes, that’s right, Bristol's Tribe of Frog collective have landed at BoomTown to create a cornucopia of colour with their renowned decor, and will be bringing with them some of the finest live acts and DJs from the UK psytrance scene! Hold on to your hat’s ladies and gents, the frogs have invaded and the psychedelic throbbing beats have descended!
