Freeze in Association with Metro, the UK’s Winter Sports Festival and Après Ski Party is returning to London for the sixth year, with over 30,000 people expected to enjoy a trip to the mountains in the heart of London. Visitors during the week will enjoy authentic alpine food stalls, parties in après ski bars, an alpine shopping village and a ski & snowboard cinema (read on for more info). Saturday includes all of the above, also hailing world class winter sports competitions on the slope during the day, more action in après ski bars and a chance for visitors to lose themselves in electric performances by top music acts (announced shortly).

Europe’s most unique festival is moving to a new home… the vast open spaces of Clapham Common will be transformed into iconic après ski scenes from all corners of the world for five days! Explore five themed alpine bars including: Dicks Tee Bar– epic 80s aprés with retro onesies and cheesy anthems, Bavarian Haus – everything Austrian under one roof where even the staff wear lederhosen, Metro Lodge – complete with trendy house music, La Folie Douche and Krazy Kangaroo.

Freeze 2013 will be the biggest and most exciting ski and snowboard competition to date with new features including the ‘Hail The Rail’ competition where the world’s best international skiers and snowboarders will be jetting in to battle for the £14,000 prize purse.

The massive shopping village will have everything you could possibly need for your next trip to the mountains. Whether you’ve been freshly bitten by the snow-bug or you’re a seasoned shredder, there’s something for everyone... You’ll be able to get advice from the people that live and breathe mountain life, peruse the latest technology, snow equipment and a full range of next season’s fashion items and streetwear or talk to the resorts and chalet companies to plan your winter getaway.

Film premieres will be taking place in the cinema showing the must see ski and snowboarding films of 2014. Talks will take place from athletes featuring in the films, top explorers who have been to untouched lands and well known mountaineers sharing their knowledge on avalanche safety so the public can fire any burning questions at them.

All the very best mouth-watering traditional alpine cuisine will be on offer, think bratwurst, crepes, fondue, tartiflette, roasted chestnuts, raclette, mulled wine, cider and more! If that isn’t enough to entice you, Freeze will also feature a fun fair complete with white knuckle rides, carousels and swinging chairs.
