For the Second year running Relentless Energy Drink Freeze Festival are a proud partner of London charity Snow-Camp at this year’s music and snow sports event at Battersea Power Station.
Snow-Camp is an innovative youth charity that uses a unique combination of skiing, snowboarding and life-skills programmes to support inner-city young people.
Through the combination of snowsports and life-skills, the programmes enable young people to grow in confidence and self esteem, develop as individuals and make positive choices for their lives.
Snow-Camp programmes also enable young people to reflect on the key issues impacting their day to day lives, and help them develop new skills to support their futures – particularly towards careers in the snowsport industry.
Snow-Camp has grown steadily from 2003 and now works with at least 400 young people each year across 12 London Boroughs. The vision is to expand Snow-Camp to other cities across the UK and bring the success of our approach to benefit many more inner-city young people.
Last year volunteers at the festival were not only spreading the good word of Snow-Camp but helping to theme Freeze Festival also, helping to give you the show-stopping sights of Freeze festival.
Event Manager James Rodd said, ‘We love the way Snow-Camp support London’s inner city young people through snowsports and they are the natural charity partner for an event like Freeze. The partnership has developed further this year with Freeze providing work experience opportunities to Snow-Camp young people across the festival, as well as stand space and other promotion – it’s fantastic to have the charity at the heart of the event.’
Snow-Camp Director Dan Charlish said, ’Our young people are only just starting to discover the world of snowsports and being able to participate in an event like Freeze and seeing some of the world’s best riders in action is incredibly inspiring. There was such a positive response to Snow-Camp at Freeze last year, we can’t wait to be involved once again - it is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of our work and hopefully get more people who are passionate about snowsports involved.’
At this year’s Freeze Festival you can expect two days of world class Snowboarding, Skiing and live music across 5 stages. You can also expect alpine style bars, a huge shopping village and gourmet food and drink, all vital for the ‘Ultimate Après Ski Party!
