Thrilled to announce today that Kaiser Chiefs and Tom Odell have been added to the MTV Crashes Coventry line-up! They join Chase & Status at this two-day event at Coventry's Ricoh Arena, set to be broadcast on MTV UK's flagship channels.
MTV UK today announced that Kaiser Chiefs and Tom Odell will join Chase & Status for Day One of MTV Crashes Coventry on May 27th! Club MTV will close the two-day event for a stadium shattering finale with a second night of dance anthems and huge hits on May 28th, acts to be announced next week.
Kaiser Chiefs said: “We can’t wait to crash Coventry! We played MTV Crashes Plymouth two years ago and it was amazing, we are so excited to do it all over again this year!”
Formed in Leeds in 2003, Kaiser Chiefs consists of Ricky Wilson, Andrew White, Simon Rix, Nick Baines and Vijay Mistry. Fronted by the charismatic Ricky Wilson, their trademark indie rock sound has delivered a string of anthems such as ‘Oh My God’, ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Everyday I Love You Less And Less’, ‘Ruby’ and ‘Never Miss A Beat’. The band are currently working on their 6th studio album due for release later in the year and will no doubt have the crowds going mad and singing along to their chart topping catalogue.
Joining the Kaiser Chiefs will be English singer -songwriter, Tom Odell. Following his BRITs Critics’ Choice Award win in 2013, Tom Odell released his debut album “Long Way Down” which charted at Number 1 and went on to reach Platinum-selling status with over a million albums sold. He went on to win the “Ivor Novello” award for Songwriter of the Year in 2014. Tom is now putting the finishing touches to his much-anticipated second album, due for release later this year.
After the huge success of last year’s MTV Crashes events, the 2016 Coventry event is set to be even better. For the first time ever, MTV Crashes will be held in a stadium bringing a whole new experience for music fans to truly bring the house down bringing the biggest event to the West Midlands this Spring.
MTV Crashes Coventry will be broadcast on MTV’s flagship UK music TV channels, shown in over 35 countries.
