Jersey Live have today announced there headline acts for this Septembers festival as Madness and Plan B with The Streets and more announced
Following last summer’s sell-out Jersey Live Festival the line up for this year’s event is taking shape and the festival organisers are pleased to announce the news of its Main Stage headliners. After the bar-raising performances in recent years by the likes of Paul Weller, Dizzee Rascal, Biffy Clyro, Tinie Tempah and The Prodigy, Jersey Live once again has two huge names to fill the top slots at the Channel Islands’ biggest live music event, taking place on 3rd and 4th September.
Madness are confirmed for the Saturday - British ska legends and icons of the ‘2 Tone’ movement, Madness, will headline the Main Stage, making their first ever appearance in Jersey. Led by frontman Graham ‘Suggs’ McPherson, the band are responsible for some of the most recognisable hits of the 70s and 80s including ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘Driving in my Car’, ‘Baggy Trousers’ and ‘House of Fun.’
Sunday night’s headliner is one that will be familiar to the island’s music fans; recent Brit Award winner (Best Male Artist) Plan B, who last year was forced to cancel his scheduled Jersey Live appearance due to filming commitments, will finally make his Jersey debut this September.
Other acts confirmed over the weekend include The Streets who are supporting Madness on the Main Stage on Saturday night, Wretch 32, The Beat, Breakage, Danny Byrd, Nero and Toddla T.
Jersey Live co-organiser Warren Holt: “After the success of Paul Weller last year, we were really keen to book another legendary British band and have been after Madness for a while now. They really fit the bill for Jersey Live, as young and old music fans will be familiar with their back catalogue, and they’re just such a perfect party band.”
Jersey Live is a unique music festival set in the idylic island of Jersey, which is situated in one of the most western parts of Europe - the Channel Islands, just off the coast of France. The atmosphere of Jersey Live is second to none, with a beautiful natured crowd and has been branded as one of the best looking & most responsive crowds on the festival circuit.
