Electric Beach 2014

Welcome to the best beach party in Newquay,  Cornwall as usual the line up was set for a great time. This year the organisers had been able to not only add more acts and space but added an extra day of beach and after party antics.

This years event was sponsored by surf conpany O'Neill they ran a student surf completion while the bands played on.

Saturday had started, the sun broke through the clouds and started what was set out to be a stunning weekend.  The stage was set, people were ariving, the food stores were firing up their ovens.

Firstly I have to say the idea of stone backed pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, burgers and hufe hot dogs was well just genius along with a bigger bar to allow for less hustle and bustle at the bar.

With pizza in one hand and a strawberry cider in the other I sat on the sand and waited for Hong Kong ping pong to take the stage and they got the beach crowd going.

The student surf masters were underway, impresive performanes from Land of the Giants and Running Numbers seemed to bring out the sun for the final few acts. The Renegade Brass Band added a new feel to the event by playing their trumpets and trombones in a real different way.

guys added a real different feel playing trumpets and trombones in a whole new way.

The party was well and truely underway with only two acts remaining it was time for Sam and the Womp to get the growd 'womping' (don't worry if you dont know how, they show you.)  After this awesone set it was time for the headline act of Saturday night Grand Master Flash who dominated the stage with his clasic hip hop talents mixed with fresh new beats playing as the sun setting behind the crowd. (I wish i could have seen the view he had over the mental crowd.)

If you thought it was all over, you were wrong. With access the the VIP after parties in the Chy bar, transport arranged to and from the campsite back in Watergate it was deffinately worth going to see what was going on.

As expected the after party was amazing throughout ending at 4am it was a real good first day.

Well ladies and gentleman its time for another day down the beach. In store for everyone today was yet more sun and yeah you guessed it, more amazing acts. Unfortunatly I had to work untill 4pm on the Sunday so actually missed the first few acts. The feed back i revieved from friends and other press on arival was all possitive.

Ariving back on site in time for Peoples String Foundation to take stage and put on a spectacular performance from start to finish, the second day was full of awsome acts putting on excellent performances throughout.

Sunday's main talking point was of course headline act Zion Train, who after a stunning performance in the midst of last yeara line up came back this year to top the bill and bring the party to a close.  As the set was in full flow these guys even made the crowd turn around and appreciate the view and sunset.

The beach fun was over two days of fun in the sun had come to an end. The final chapter in this epic event was the last after party in Chy and what a party it was.

The perfect end to the perfect beach party.

See you next year
