'Shake Your Ass' At Found Festival

What a beautiful place to have Found in a sleepy Shoreditch park on a sunny afternoon. Dog walkers beware this festival would have been quite a surprise to any man taking his pooch for a stroll in Haggerston Park.

A compact party with a very friendly feel, Found Festival feels more like a house DJ’s 21st birthday party than a gathering of strangers. Small festivals have that wonderful benefit of being able to walk from one side to the next in 5 minutes which makes finding new boogie spots and locating your spangled mates a breeze.

Found’s main stage played host to some fine house and techno acts with Cassy coming up trumps for me and my happy chum whilst we supped cider with smiley party boys and girls. The soundsystem on the main stage filled the arena with a most satisfying, thunderous whomp. Unfortunately our crew could clearly hear each other without shouting when stood directly in front of the speakers of the other stages but this is a park in the middle of a residential area after all. This was quite a shame – the beats being dropped in No Fit State were fresh and funky and I was severely lacking in body vibrations.

Kudos to the VIP area which so often feels disconnected from the main party. The “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” had a vibe and style of it’s own. With Wonderland décor, characters from the Disney movie, chilled seating and cocktail bar I felt like a well-entertained VIP. Well done Mr Found.

Small note on the afterparty. An apparent ban on looking at anyone let alone smiling at the Coronet made for an unwelcome continuation of such a happy day. Next year it’s home time for some slippers and pipe action.

Go to Found next year and stand in the middle of the crowd of the main stage and shake your ass! You will not be disappointed.
